Monaco
It’s Monaco baby! Who doesn’t love Monaco? The shimmering sea, the glittering buildings and the glamour of the rich and famous packing the tiniest of principalities. I was lucky enough to go to Monaco a couple of years ago and here’s a few useful tips if you want the full Monaco experience.
Number #1: Make sure your outfit can go from day to night to very late night as you never know when you will get invited to a party – they are literally going on everywhere.
Number #2: There are parties on the track around the harbour each night. We were dancing at 2am at turn 16 and watching the race from opposite the next day. Not sure you get that anywhere else.
Number #3: The roads are open after the daytime sessions have finished so you are likely to find yourself in a taxi driving the course back to your hotel.
However if you are not at Monaco this year, I will be at Centre Parcs..:-(…here are some yummy recipes to get you in the mood. This weekend looks set fair so crack open the champagne and tuck in for the most glamorous race of the year.
Starters
Farinata, Cognac ‘n’ Herb Tapenade, Barbagiuan, and a new one this year Fougassse.
Mains
We have Salad Nicoise which you can turn into a Pan Bagnat by putting all of the ingredients in a baguette.
Desserts
The opulent Mille-Feuille with Roast Strawberries and Mascarpone, not one that you can just whip up but nevertheless yummy.
Drinks
One year we made a French Monaco, I wouldn’t bother again. Just have some bubbles!
