Azerbaijan Recipes
Azerbaijan is a tiny country on eastern edge of Europe, the gateway to Western Asia and bizarrely (for a lot of people) it was chosen to host the European Grand Prix in 2016. It was so popular that the Azerbaijan Grand Prix returned as a permanent fixture on the calendar the following year.
Set in the capital city of Baku, the street circuit is captivating with its beautiful architecture and tight turns, there is never a dull grand prix – just ask Vettel and Hamilton!
This year I have added two new recipes, Goyarti Gutabi – a herb filled pancake and the more hearty dish of Roasted Hen with Potatoes and Apples. In all we have a selection of nine recipes to choose from; 3 starters, 3 mains and 3 desserts.
Starters
You can choose to have a mini mezze style meal with Aubergine Rolls, Yogurtlu Kabak Salatasi and Goyarti Gutabi.
Mains
It is hard to decide between Kourma Plov or Toyug maybe let the weather decide for you, or you can always have half a hen!
Desert
The Baklava and Cardamom and Walnut Mutekke are both delicious, to be honest I would probably not bother with the Garpiz Murebbesi (preserved watermelon rind!)
